The dishwasher was elevated to allow for easier loading and unloading and to balance visually with the other window on the same wall. The windows were not replaced in the remodel. Kitchen 3B is taller than the window shown in this photo, but the tops of the windows are at the same height. The dishwasher was elevated so that the distance from the counter to the bottom of the window matched the distance for the window shown in photo 3B. This provided balance visually.
